The Quarry is LIVE and gamers are going crazy!

The Quarry, an interactive drama horror video game developed by Supermassive Games and published by 2K, was just released on June 10th after months of anticipation. Reputable gaming news sites like PCGamesN and The Verge have been hyping it up as well as YouTubers like Jacksepticeye and MKIceAndFire.

Jacksepticeye, posted a series of gameplay videos for his 28.6 million subscribers which received between 2.9 and 5.9 million views each. And MKIceAndFire posted a 7.5 hour full walkthrough for his 3.1 million subscribers which has been watched a staggering 1.4 million times already.

To date, there are hundreds of videos on Tiktok posting scenes from the Quarry as well as gameplay footage - 3 of which have received over 1 million views. Even though these clips were uploaded between June 16th - 22nd, a period during which search volume of “The Quarry” on Google declined, it is possible that the algorithm determined they weren't worth showing to users until weeks after they were posted.

Interest in the game dropped in the week of June 26th but quickly picked back up the week of July 3rd after Playstation announced a sale on PS4 and PS5 formats. The Quarry's popularity seems to be trending upward but only time will tell if the game will continue to grow in popularity or fail to create a lasting impression.
