According to Google search data, the most popular lakes in the USA this summer are Lake Mead, Cayuga Lake, Houghton Lake, and Saguaro Lake. Cayuga Lake, situated in New York State, has also seen a sharp increase in interest, with 72.6% more searches being conducted in June than in the previous month. And, finally, Houghton Lake and Saguaro Lake, located in Michigan and Arizona respectively, have also experienced significant increases in interest from potential visitors. So if you're looking for a summer getaway, one of these lakes might be the perfect destination.

Unfortunately, Lake Mead, located in Nevada, is currently trending for a different reason. Lake Mead is currently experiencing an extreme drought. The water level has decreased significantly, revealing a sunken landing craft from World War II.The decrease in water level is due to a number of factors, including climate change, increased demand from growing populations, and upstream water diversions.
